No matter what type of blog you have, quality, black and white, grunge, this picture belongs on all of it. This is in memory of the 27 people (18 of which are kindergartners) who lost their lives today in Newtown, Connecticut. You are forever in our hearts.
this is absolutely heartbreaking. look at the children’s faces. it’s not just fear, it’s confusion. they’re little KIDS! they barely even know what’s going on. and yet they’re being rushed from their school, evacuated, because someone’s killing people in there. can you imagine watching a friend, a classmate, anyone - maybe even a sibling - get shot, as you stand there helplessly, not even fully aware of what’s happening? it’s sickening. these are innocent children. those who survived will be traumatised for the rest of their lives. and those who didn’t make it out. they’ve gone to a better place, even if their lives were cut disgustingly short. but their families. put yourself in a parent’s place. you’re at work. you get a call, or even see on the news, that there’s someone shooting children in your child’s school. and you don’t know if your child is alive or if you’re too late. you rush to the school to be told that you’re not picking your child up today. or ever again. you have to go home, and face the presents hidden in the cupboards that were going to be christmas presents. look into your child’s room and know that they’ll never be in it again. drawings on the wall, their things lying about, absolutely everything just reminding you. can you imagine anything worse? because i’m not sure if i can.
please take a minute to pray for these children but also their families. the teachers in the school. everyone affected. and i’m pretty sure that ‘everyone affected’ covers a very large range of people, from friends to relatives to the children themsevles. this is so so so sad. please pray for them.
